MSN’s dirty email signature trick

Windows 7: I wanted simpler, now it’s simpler. I’m a rock star.

I’m sure somewhere in the fine print, a user agrees to let Microsoft attach any message they want to the signature of one’s emails.  I don’t use MSN and I understand the need to monetize their free services.

Email is a huge pain in the ass that everyone takes for granted.  I appreciate how easy it is to simply use a 3rd party and depend on them to have 100% availability and Spam-free.

I don’t think it is cool to have an email signature that essentially hijacks the user’s authority.  It may not be intentional, but a signature added to MSN user emails with an unquoted statement “I wanted simpler, now it’s simpler. I am a rockstar”, implies that I, the user, am happy with Windows 7 and proactively encouraging others to use it.

That’s dirty.
