		<description>You hit the nail right on the head bro!  This one jogged a slightly unrelated memory, when I was reading earlier job interview requirements asking for 10 years of java experience when java was only out for about 5 years.  Good stuff.</description>

I always considered trying to answer questions asking for quantification of exposure to various technologies a tedious, time consuming, and ultimately time-wasting mental exercise.

A recent job application asked me the same &quot;years experience&quot; questions for no less than 20 technologies. INCLUDING Microsoft Office!! Guess they didn&#039;t want no Word chumps or somethin&#039;.

A better version, but still subjective and prone to misrepresentation, is the &quot;How skilled would you say you are with X?&quot; With answers like &quot;n00b, nub, novice, adept, intermediate, expert, master, grand master, guru, and Superman&quot;.</description>
