A recent job application asked me the same "years experience" questions for no less than 20 technologies. INCLUDING Microsoft Office!! Guess they didn't want no Word chumps or somethin'. A better version, but still subjective and prone to misrepresentation, is the "How skilled would you say you are with X?" With answers like "n00b, nub, novice, adept, intermediate, expert, master, grand master, guru, and Superman". Not the sports page. Not a magazine.
